FIW provides a research platform, information on topics relevant to foreign trade and access to economic databases. It is a cooperative project of the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration, the University of Vienna, the Johannes Kepler University Linz, the Leopold-Franzens University Innsbruck, the Austrian Institute of Economic Research (WIFO) and the Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies (wiiw).
It is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research and the Federal Ministry of Labor and Economics.
